Their working week
Your full-time policy

Include bank holidays if your policy counts them in the allowance. The legal minimum for a five-day week is 28 days including bank holidays; 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (33) is also common.

THEIR HOLIDAY

16.8 days

Rounded up to the next half day: 17 days. Part days must never be rounded down.

Legal minimum for this working week: 16.8 days.

Working: 28 × (3 ÷ 5) = 16.8 days

Your workspace starts with your policy: 28 days on a 5-day week, bank holidays included. Workframe then works out each person’s allowance from their working pattern. No card needed.

For workers with regular hours in Great Britain. People with irregular hours or who work only part of the year follow a different method (12.07% of hours worked). Not legal advice. Nothing you enter is stored or sent unless you choose to set it up for your team.

How it works

  • The allowance is your full-time allowance × (days they work ÷ full-time days).
  • The legal minimum is 5.6 × the days they work each week, capped at 28 days.
  • If you enter weekly hours, the allowance is also shown in hours, using their average working day. Use hours when their days are different lengths or they work compressed hours.
  • For a starter or leaver, the allowance is scaled by the calendar days they are employed in the leave year. In the first year, holiday builds up at one twelfth a month, so the amount available at a given date can differ slightly.
